Peace With Christ started out 21 years ago with members from Mount Olive, University Hills, and Hope Lutheran Church. Over these last 21 years we have grown in many ways. Our numbers have grown,our ministries have grown and our faith has grown just to name a few.

From our beginnings in Cimarron Elementary School to the building that we worship in today, God has blessed us greatly. We have held 3 Capitol Stewardship campaigns in the past: Teach Me Lord: Stewardship is Lordship (1986), Caring Enough to Grow (1992), and Fulfilling the Dream (1996). We are now embarking on a new path of growth: Outward growth.

The Expanding the Dream Capital Stewardship Campaign is aimed at reducing the principle on our existing debt in order to expand our current ministries, and to plant new churches in the southeast Aurora area.

Recent Studies have shown that there is only one church for every 45,000 people within a five mile radius of our church. There is a great need in our area for more churches. Studies have also shown that church planting is one of the best ways to grow a church and it's a great outreach to the community.

Planting a church would be a magnificent display of Peace With Christ's third vision statement: To Send Them Out For Christ. Members of Peace With Christ will voluntarily choose to assist in planting a new church just as those that did so over 20 years ago. These people would then fulfill the first vision statement of Peace With Christ: To Lead People To Christ.

As stated earlier, the Expanding The Dream campaign is aimed at reducing the current debt of Peace With Christ. Depending on the amount raised, this could save the church over $14, 000 per month in principal and interest payments. The money saved will then be used to plant new churches and expand the ministries currently at Peace With Christ.

10% of the money will be used to call and train a pastor over the next 2- 3 years. That pastor and the volunteers from the congregation will be sent out to plant a new church.

Peace with Christ will continue to grow, God’s purpose for us will still flourish, but the Kingdom of God needs to grow faster. Mt 24: 36 tells us ‘No one knows about the day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. ’ and 1Th 5: 2 tells us ‘… for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. ’ We cannot afford to slowly lead people to Christ. We need to multiply the rate people are led to Christ. With Church planting, two churches can lead more people to Christ than just one. New churches will spread the Good News to more people than Peace with Christ can by itself. ‘Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap gener ously. ’ 2Co 9: 6. As the new churches grow, their own uniqueness or personality will emerge, according to God’s will, enabling them to attract different types of people to Christ. This will Grow the Kingdom of God more rapidly than what Peace with Christ could do by itself.

To enable Peace with Christ to further the Kingdom of God and lead seekers to Christ, the church is asking each of you to make a commitment to ‘Expanding the Dream’, through sacrificial offering and ministry. 2Co 9: 7 ‘Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. ’ Your commitment should not be made in haste or without the guidance of the God and the Holy Spirit. Therefore, pray to God to guide your offering amount so that you can “be confident in God’s ability to provide what He leads you to commit.”

‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. ’ Pr 3: 5
