I’m just going to say this straight. It has been really hard to not worship together in the same building. I truly believe that people need people, right now more than ever. Genesis 2:18 says,”It is not good for the man to be alone.” While we are thankful for technology that has allowed us to be somewhat connected, God created us to walk together and be in the same place. That is why I am so excited to say that we are targeting Sunday, June 21st to worship again in person. This day will be a big celebration, and we will break our communion fast.

While we are not sure what the future will hold or how the government will direct us, we are going to start planning to worship in person on the 21st. Could this day change? Absolutely, there are a lot of moving pieces. We just feel at this time it is smart to begin to plan to offer in person worship again. The day could move either way based on the current situation and our government’s recommendation.

We know some of you will choose not to worship in the building right away. We still want you to plan on celebrating this milestone with us. Here are a few other options for you to plan to celebrate with us:

  • We plan to have speakers out in the parking lot. That will allow some of you to worship outside with your windows down and at least hear what is happening inside. It will also enable you to receive communion.

  • We will continue to live stream our worship services so you can watch them in your home until you feel it is right for you to be back. We believe that worship is always better together, but we want you to make the decision that is right for you. We will have a way for you to come and receive communion as well.

Safety is a priority for us. Here are a few things we will do in order to open up:

  • We will have a way of safely bringing you in and out of the worship center.

  • We will have a way of limiting the number of people in our building for the safety of our community.

  • We will be sanitizing before each service.

  • We will follow our government’s recommendations for safety.

  • We will have sanitizing stations available before entering the building.

These are our commitments to you for your safety. We believe that we can worship safely even in the midst of this ongoing pandemic. We truly believe that people need people more than ever.

How America and Colorado is reopening is a very polarizing topic right now and reopening church is certainly a part of this. I want to encourage you to not let the little things divide us on the bigger thing. Yes, some of you believe we should have opened up weeks ago, you have valid reasons. Some of you believe opening in June is too early, you have valid reasons. Those are lesser because what unites us as a church is BECAUSE OF JESUS we want to LOVE like Jesus, EQUIP each other and GO join Jesus. Let’s be clear, all of those things can happen until we can meet again and those of you who are not able to be with us can still do those things.

I know many of us (including me) are becoming burned out with our virtual world and it is not easy to attend virtual worship and virtual bible studies. I encourage you in this time to be built up spiritually. At a minimum, put aside distractions for an hour to worship the best you can at home. I would also encourage you to read your bible, find devotions, and pray. It is especially important in this challenging time to be connected with God.

I want to thank you for your trust in me and the rest of our staff during this time. We will continue to do all that we can to speak hope into your lives and to help you through whatever is going on. Remember at Peace with Christ, YOU DO NOT GO ALONE. LETS CELEBRATE TOGETHER.

In Christ,

Pastor Josh
